Back to the Lake

The Sunset. It is not that often that you get clouds with Las Vegas sunsets.

We were invited to roast marshmallows; we did some fancy talking and went to the lake to enjoy the cooler weather ( it was 92). It was fun. We hadn't been to the lake for a while; it was nice to go back. We had a fire, cooked hot dogs & smores with the Babcocks and Chadwicks. On the way there we had big horn sheep cross the road in front of us. It is always fun to see them in their natural habitat. It is crazy how they can climb the rocks.

I spy with my little eye... (there are two)

We made it to the lake and were surprised, there were people there! I know that shouldn't be that surprising but most of the time we are the only ones there. There was still some room for us on the beach so we set up the fire. The kids ran straight for the water and sand and had a great time getting messy and completely enjoying being outside.

Playing with Mom

Acadia talked me into making a sand castle with her. She was so excited to be able to have real sand and not the rock sand that is found at most of the parks here. None of our friends had been to this part of Lake Mead before, so it was a new adventure for them. It is wonderful way to spend a Saturday evening.

How fun! It's nice just to play outdoors when it's not 100 degrees!

I love going to lake mead, next best thing to a beach! That's a beautiful sunset. It really makes me love the desert.
Were you on the Arizona side of lake? That spot looks like one my favorite spots with sand on the Arizona side.

What a fun way to spend a summer evening. At 92 degrees it was even more fun. The kids looked to be just loving it. Good looking sand castle.
