Splash Park and Carousel

The day we arrived in Idaho we headed straight to the splash park. Any place that includes water, slides, and a carousel is always on the top of the list of kids favorite places. This was no exception.

Splish Splash

Cheese!

It took a little while for my kids to get up the courage to go down the water slide but once they tried it they couldn't get enough. Acadia came over to me and said "Mom if you will run through the splashing water (I wasn't in a swim suit) then I will go down the slide." She has become quite bargainer. She has picked that up from me :) ( if you eat your veggies you can have dessert, etc) Well needless to say I went through the spraying water completely dressed and she went down the slide. Both parties were pretty happy with the agreement. The only concern that I have as a parent is that all the ground where the water sprays up is all cement. Not the nice foam stuff they have in Vegas, but very hard cement. Just make sure you don't fall.

Whee!

Look at his smile

The Carousel has a special place in my heart. It was opened in 1990, for the Idaho centennial celebration. I was 10 years old and we had a great big Idaho performance. I was an Idaho spud. Yeah if you can believe it. Complete with gunni sack, my dads huge farm boots, and green leaves in my hair. We did the Charleston dance. I must say we were stunning! :) The other reason it is special to me a member of our ward carved a few of the horses, and we got to see them before they were completed and put on the carousel. It is pretty amazing to see all the work that goes into building a wooden horse. Needless to say I really enjoy riding the Rexburg Carousel.

Trey was so excited to have a horse was wearing a blue saddle.
Yeah imagine that... blue is his favorite color.

Acadia climb up all by herself. I looked over there and she was up in the saddle. When did she get so big?
